Mr. Tucker believes, “If you talk to anyone about our school, the folks will tell you about the pride they have in the deep tradition of the school. The walls echo of students’ academic and extracurricular successes that go back generations. I am proud to continue to grow the tradition. I want our students to have pride in the past, innovate today, and ultimately be prepared for their future. It is a growth mindset that I believe parents, teachers, students, and the community expect. This expectation will permeate the hallways of HHS and extend beyond these walls into academics, leadership, and community service. Students will know that we care about their future, and we are invested in their outcome.” Mr. Tucker is honored to continue as the Principal at Hardin High School.
Mr. Tucker is married to his amazingly talented wife Amanda. She is also a teacher within the district. Together they have two wonderful children, Olivia in 8th grade and Wyatt in 3rd grade. They give he and his wife so much joy every day.
Hardin High School Assistant Principal
Dr. Rachel Polk
I am honored and proud to serve as the Assistant Principal of Hardin High School where students and faculty are excited about learning. Here at Hardin High, we build positive relationships that will nurture the heart and educate the mind of our scholars. We also take pride in partnering with our parents and community to celebrate the growth of our students and their academic successes.
I completed my undergraduate work at Texas A&M University, and continued my graduate studies at Lamar University where I obtained the following degrees: Master of Secondary Education and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership.
My career in education began 25 years ago as a 6th grade English teacher. Before becoming an Assistant Principal, I taught English, Reading, and Speech at the Texas Youth Commission. My role as an administrator began in Liberty ISD where I worked at both the elementary and high school levels.
When I am not at school, I enjoy movies, music, reading, shopping, and trying new places to eat. I love spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
Hardin High School is an amazing place to work. I am happy to be a part of the Hardin ISD family and look forward to an exciting school year! I am walking in my purpose and I love it!
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
